My bohemian noir aesthetic plays with a balance between the natural and theatrical. Influenced by literature, science, mythologies, mysticism, pop art, punk and the feminist movement; my aim is to create a visual narrative of sensuality & empowerment set to a soundtrack befitting a teen rebel that refuses to grow up. My preferred medium is acrylic on wood, often incorporating tactile 3D elements. My painted ladies have been exhibited in San Diego, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, St. Louis, and beyond under the name “Yelley.” I also love pen & ink and digital illustration as well, which I do for custom branding and product designs.
